This summer we visited the beautiful Caernarfon castle. We had a great time looking around the castle and The Royal Welch Fusiliers Regimental Museum, which is also inside the castle. The boys both got a lot out of the trip so I wanted to extend the experience with some castle- themed activities afterwards- here are some ideas:
- Junk modelling/ cardboard creations
Easy and cheap; this is a great way to create small-world scenes at home.
- Decorate a flag
Neither Big or Little are massive fans of ‘colouring in’ but this went down really well as a simple mark making activity.
- Create an old map
- Dig a moat and build a sandcastle
- Dress up and role play
Have you visited a castle with your children? What castle-related activities do they enjoy?
